About Brittany’s Quest

What exactly is “Streets Ahead?” What the heck does it even mean? How does she plan on getting to something that doesn’t even have a real meaning? Is it referring to that show on NBC with Chevy Chase and Joel McHale? Community College? Hasn’t that show been cancelled like 10 million times?

Okay, so yes, my title is a little strange. But hey, my blog, my rules. Okay well maybe I still have to apply the rules of wordpress and US Law, but after that, MY RULES. So sit back, relax, and get ready for quite the ride into why I chose my title.

Streets Ahead is a quote from the cult favorite NBC show, Community. For those of you who do not know, Community is my favorite show of all time.

The phrase is said by Chevy Chase’s character, Pierce. I would explain the context of the phrase, but instead I am just going to insist that you all go watch the show. The phrase comes up in the first season (in one of my favorite episodes), so don’t worry about having to “commit” to anything heavy. You can stop watching the Real Housewives of (insert major city here that has rich whiny women who willingly show their ridiculous lifestyles to millions of people to make even more money), and treat yo-self (ahhh Parks and Rec…how I always find myself referencing you) to some comedic genius.

I don’t know why I like the phrase so much. I just thought it was such a silly thing to joke about because I feel like I would try and make it “happen” just like Pierce tries to.

So yeah, I know I promised you all a “ride” into why I chose my title, but there really isn’t one.

I am on a quest to achieve that “Streets Ahead” mentality: Always ahead of the curve and in the know, but not really sure why it matters and how it even started.

Wow, could I be more weird and complicated. Just go with it. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
